my 3 year old son had his first appointment at the hospital.he was very scared because he didnt know what the doctor might do.when we met doctor Gatrad my son had a smile, he made us welcome, and as my son didnt know any english he spoke to us in urdu which made my son comfortable for the doctor to examine him. Mr Gatrad is a very good doctor he looks after his patients and thats why my son liked his visit.

We were refered to Professor Gatrad following a doctors visit for my son who had been complaining with stomach pains for the past 2 months. From the moment we met him, Professor Gatrad's warmth and genuine concern put us at ease and we had complete trust in his professional opinion. We had dietry advice and he arranged for a series of thorough tests. Im delighted to say that following his help my son is now a lot better. His bedside manner is fantastic, he is not only a fantastic specialist with a wealth of experience, but also his kindness was wonderful. We would definately recommend anyone who wants a specialist who listens and really cares, to see Professor Gatrad.

I first met Professor Gatrad when we were referred to him as my son has a heart murmur. When we met him he was really easy to speak to and to tell him of our concerns. He was excellent with my son making him feel at ease and taking the time to speak to him and chat which had a really positive effect on him. We have been seeing Prof Gatrad now for a number of years during which he has dealt with my sons persistant nose bleeds and lack of iron. During this time both myself and my wife have always felt reassured that my son was in the hands of a top specialist and that his condition will not adversely effect his life. I have complete confidence in Professor Gatrad it is obvious when you meet him he knows exactly what he is talking about and I would highly reccommend him.

I have been consulting with Professor Gatrad over the last 7-8 months regarding my grandson who has severe milk allergy. I am a medical doctor working at the University of Edinburgh, however, prior to contacting Professor Gatrad we had found it very difficult to get specialist advice. Professor Gatrad has been an invaluable source of advice and support. My family and I are extremely grateful to Professor Gatrad for everything he has done (and continuous to do for us).

I met professor Gatrad after finding out my Daughter had a heart murmur. He made me feel so comfortable and was so helpful in reassuring me that my Daughter's murmer is not one of great concern. I have met with Professor Gatrad 3 times and on every appointment, he has took his time to make sure that my Daughter has the best treatments. I had other concerns about her wellbeing and he has been a great help in establishing what has been the problem immediately. As I had attended GP appointments and they didn't really know what the problem was and sent us away saying she has a virus and that was that. Professor Gatrad acknowledged that she may be aneamic and has arranged for blood tests to be carried out. I have complete confidence in Professor Gatrad it is obvious when you meet him he knows exactly what he is talking about and I would highly reccomend him to any parent who has concerns about their child.
